Favorite Mother's Day Photo Gifts
Mother's day is only a handful of days away! If you don't yet have a little something to show mom and grandma the love, I can tell you as a mom myself there is nothing quite like a photo gift! So here are a few of my favorites to inspire.
All of the projects on this list are pretty quick and easy(or at least doable in the next 5 days!), the supplies are readily available at your local craft store and they have at least one stage that is suitable for little helping hands.
This glass tile pendant tutorial from Sugar Bee Crafts is a gift that allows mom to keep the people she loves close to her heart. Who doesn't love custom jewelry? For some different design ideas check out the tutorial from Saving with Sarah as well. A fun alternative to this is to turn your child's art into jewelry. Have them draw a picture of them with grandma or mom!

The "I love you to the moon and back" photo collage is a great way to showcase favorite moments from the year with mom. This is available as a print from Minted.com but would be easy enough to make with printer and some photo glue! Select the pictures you want included in the collage, right click and select the 'print' option. Your photos should pop up in a second window with size options, if you scroll to the bottom you can select the contact sheet which will give you perfectly size pictures for this collage.
This easy wood picture holder from Hucklebrry Love makes a great joint gift for grandma. I love this idea for photo display in a family room or kitchen. It's wonderful to be able to easily swap out photos. Micheal's has a variety of unstained, stained and painted pr hung wood signs and frames that would work perfectly for this purpose. For a Mother's Day gift fill the clips with a mixture of pictures of mom's and messages and drawing from the kids 'why I love gramdma'
If mom has no wall space left DIY photo coasters are a great and easy gift the kids can make themselves! Include a poem or Mother's Day message on one of the coasters! This tutorial comes from 2 Boys + 1 Girl = One Crazy Mom but there are lots of variations out there.

And then there is the ever popular photo mug! This is a great practical gift for the home or office that will let mom show off her kids while enjoying caffeine. It's a win win. This eHow tutorial shows you how to do photo transfers onto a mug at home but there are lots of order options, the mug below is from Shutterfly.com which has some great designs. Many local labs have affordable 1 hour printing for mug photo gifts as well.
There are also of course the more classic photo options and endless great non photo DIY projects. Since I'm a big proponent of getting your pictures of the computer and into the real world these are just a few fun ideas to make use of your photos! Happy Mother's Day to all the Mom's, Grandmother's, God Mothers out there!
