About Me

Time passes so quickly and it always brings change. I have never been a big fan of change. Forward movement, no matter how positive, means leaving something behind that you may have loved. I think that's part of why I love photography. Photographs don't just capture images, they capture memories and emotions. Photographs allow us to more fully access, and savour, pieces of our precious lives.

Sleepy newborns seem to turn into toddlers overnight. Although toddlers bring a whole set of new adventures, you can never have that tiny newborn back again. But with a photograph you can remember. You can remember how delicate they felt in your arms, their sweet scent, the silly expression you've only ever seen on your child. Photography can capture the exhilaration and excitement of a new relationship or engagement; the busy energy of a house full of small children; or the optimism, bravery and sheer terror of diving passionately into a new venture. I've always found it amazing how much can be packed into a photograph. Whenever I pick up my camera, I strive to capture more than just a beautiful image. I strive to capture personality, a feeling, a dynamic, a moment.

I am a Halifax based, self-taught photographer with a passion for people and pictures. Let me help you capture more than just an image. Let me help you savour life by the hundredth of a second.

“Taking pictures is savoring life intensely, every hundredth of a second.” - Marc Riboud
